Tomato Plants - The Giant Tree

The Giant Tree Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) is vigorous growing heirloom variety of tomato that requires space and trellising. This is not a plant to choose for the balcony but the back-yard will be fine.  It needs full-sun and will grow between 3-6+ metre's which can become a feature plant to hide garage walls, grow over pergolas and along fence-lines.

The fruit is pinkish-red and meaty which makes it ideal for salads or sliced with mozzarella and basil. 

If planting around the Sunshine Coast / SE Qld area we have a sub-tropical climate and Tomato's will grow happily well into Autumn. 

If you are new to growing vegetables Tomato's are one of the best plants to start with as they are relatively easy to grow as long as the vines are staked or trellised and fed regularly. 

Grown without chemicals or pesticides. 

Water daily until established. Sold in 10mm pots they stand about 30cm tall at the moment.
